Before creating your playlist, take your vehicle into any BMW center to have the proper equipment installed.

Once your vehicle is enabled, you’ll have control over what you hear and when you hear it. The interface is easy to use, and the sound quality you’ll get from your BMW's audio system is outstanding. You’ll even be able to scroll through songs and adjust the volume from your steering wheel. It’s as easy as these simple steps:

Connect

Inside the glove box, you'll find the interface cable for your iPod. Your BMW glove box protects and keeps your iPod out of view. The cable provides power to the iPod while connected and when your vehicle is operating.

Select

Customize your playlist using the iDrive controller. The new BMW interface for iPod lets you easily access your entire music library, shuffle songs, skip tracks and adjust volume.

Control

Select CD1 to listen to your playlists, CD2 to choose by artist, CD3 by album title, CD4 by music genre, CD5 by Podcast and CD6 displays a selection of songs from your music library. You can even scroll songs and control volume from your steering wheel.

Important: The adapter is compatible with 3rd, 4th and 5th generation iPods, iPod mini and iPod nano. The adapter is not compatible with iPod shuffle. The Apple logo, iPod, iPod mini and iPod nano are registered trademarks of Apple Inc.
