2004 Ford Excursion Review (continued)
Add your own review or comments

Summary

Ford's gargantuan sport-utility is a stable platform for towing heavy trailers and can at the same time carry a truckload of fishermen. It rides fairly well for a heavy-duty truck and it's luxurious and comfortable. For those who want to tow trailers up to 11,000 pounds, the Excursion is a good alternative to a pickup with a cap. Ford says it will continue to produce the Excursion through the 2005 model year.

The Ford Excursion should not, however, be considered an alternative to a minivan. It's far too thirsty, and its size, weight and design make for poor maneuverability and handling when compared with minivans and light-duty SUVs.

This is my second excursion. The ride and handling have improved greatly. It is quieter and the additional luxury options make this a dream to drive. I would recommend getting the diesel engine if you drive a lot of miles.

Love this vehicle, the size is great, plenty of room, feels great driving. I like the roominess, and the cargo space even with the second seat in the up position. Needs a little work on the supension for smoother ride.

This is an excellent family truck. Very roomy, extremely easy and comfortable to drive for such a large vehicle. Fuel economy is decent, power is outstanding, and bad weather capability is exceptional. Very capable in the snow and tough driving conditions. Perfect for me and my family.

The excursion is a great SUV but its fuel economy is very poor. The heated seats and memory on the seats and pedals are great. Heated mirrors also a nice feature. The DVD player keep's the passengers happy during long trips.
