2007 Hyundai Elantra Review (continued)
Add your own review or comments

Summary

With each new model, Hyundai creeps up on the competition, led by the Japanese. The Elantra has at least two assets, interior size and standard safety equipment, that out-do other compact cars. The styling can now hold its own; it's very clean and doesn't try to draw attention to itself. The seats are comfortable, brakes excellent, and cornering good. The revised engine offers the latest four-cylinder technology; it can power the Elantra to 80 miles per hour without much effort, and can deliver 28 city and 36 highway miles per gallon when driven conservatively. With a price that's lower than most other compact cars, the Elantra is a worthy competitor in the class.

NewCarTestDrive.com correspondent Sam Moses filed this report from the Columbia River Gorge on the Oregon-Washington border.

new 2007 GLS with the 5 speed manual is more than I expected. It a fun car to drive, handles well on the highway and acclerates well. It handles and rides like a dream. Better gas milage is the only thing i would like to add.

Excellant overall build quality and exterior fit and finish!! Stlying is great! The car is well made and its safety features are far above the competitors. I just think that antenna could be better. Other than that, I have no other complaints. Thank you, Hyundai and keep up the good work.

The Car with it's extensive list of standard features and safety ratings as well as the quietness and overall perfromance is my best vehicle yet. And all at a very reasonable price! I would highly recommend this Car to others.

What an awesome compact! The car drives almost like a compact sport sedan. Handling is secure, and ride and comfort of this vehicle is amazing. The Elantra could use some standard mudguards especially on the 16" whell combinations. And also standard floormats. But all in all this is one fine sedan!!
