2008 Nissan Altima Review Summary

The 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe is a nice two-door coupe. Elements of its styling hint at what Nissan hopes it will do to brighten up the Altima brand. But it lacks the spark, in looks and performance, that's essential to give a coupe the personality to be an image leader.

NewCarTestDrive.com correspondent Tom Lankard filed this report from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

I love the car! I purchased my altima and really the 4cyl is almost as peppy! It's a super sporty sedan. Push button start, leather, i love it all! I am so glad that I decided to go with the altima rather than the accord. I highly reccomend this car.

When I was looking for a new car, nothing stood out more than the Nissan Altima Coupe. The look of the car and its uniqueness on the road alone sold me. It is very fun to drive and responsive for me. The seats are perfect and the basic package brought what I needed and not the extras I honestly see as unnecessary. Honestly, this car is perfect for me as a teenage driver.

Love this car. The acceleration is very impressive and the ride on the highways make the trip zoom by. Bluetooth option is much better than I have had before. Stereo system can really crank tunes. The key is super convenient. Very Happy with purchase and would recommend to all. Price, quality and fun.

Great shape, fun and active drive with power to match, comfortable and cool interior, really cool car to make a statement for young executives with a zest for life. The exterior shape and interior finishes are my fav features on this car.. with push button start, powerful V6 engine with execellent drive control.

I'm pretty particular about my cars, and I am enjoying this one more and more everyday. Bluetooth is awesome! Heated seats. Navigation is nice but you can't do much with it while moving. XM and Bose system. Keyless entry and the push button start are cool and convenient features. Looks sharp, too!

This car is so much fun and so smooth! I love the bluetooth capability, bose sound system, satellite radio and iPod hook up. Car has a solid feel and fresh design. Big enough to actually carry normal sized people! CVT is so smooth and has a nice manual mode. Buy it dude!!

This is everything I've been looking for! I love this car! With the power seat, it's pretty easy to get comfortable. The acceleration is beautiful for easy highway entrance, if you need to pass a vehicle it's a breeze. Everything on this car, from the look, to the driving experience, is smooth!

I am very happy with my purchase of a 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe. This vehicle is very fun to drive! I love the sleek look of the outside as well as the inside! People can not believe it is an Altima. It is a smooth riding vehicle. Nissan did an excellent job with the Altima design and performance.

The car drives wonderfully with great pickup. Lots of storage space! Fold-down back seats. Great pickup. Comfortable quiet ride. Good basic sound system with an mp3 plug-in. Beautiful exterior styling, and the Metallic Jade color is lovely.

For those, who are looking for a decent car for decent money, buy this car. It looks epic on the outside and spectacular on the inside. I bought it because it comes with some things that the Toyota Solara doesn't. CVT manual mode is a definitely blast for those looking a little something extra. Gas mileage is okay at 25-28 mpg. Great car!

I think the Altima is a steal. This is a sporty car with midsize roots and value pricing in its segment. The Altima's CVT and engine mating and an interior that we found best in the class for us make it a home run. The power bands are beautifully executed. CVT does great even in hills. Bravo Nissan engineering!
