ver dig through your closet or attic or garage and find something cool that you forgot you had? Maybe a long-forgotten baseball card, or an autographed picture of Ralph Macchio? We’re guessing you’ve never come across anything nearly as cool or valuable as what one man in England found when going through his grandfather’s garage: A 1928 Mercedes Benz S-Type Sports Tourer, which had gone untouched for more than 60 years.
“This one-owner car offers an unrepeatable opportunity for collectors,”
Automotive expert Rupert Banner told the UK paper The Sun. “At a time when motor cars in original condition and with impeccable provenance are appreciated more than ever.”
The car has a 6.8-liter supercharged engine and was capable of speeds up to 100 mph.
This extremely rare Merc is scheduled to go up for auction on September 15th at Bonhams’ Goodwood Revival and is expected to fetch upwards of $2.4 million.
