hen Lindsay Lohan crashed her rented Porsche into the back of a semi truck last month, she offered numerous excuses before finally settling on the claim that the car’s brakes had failed. The troubled actress was quoted as saying she “slammed on the brakes” but “nothing happened.” The rental company tested the car after the crash and found the brakes were functioning properly. To make matters worse for Lohan, Porsche decided to conduct its own tests, and they came to the same conclusion.

Lohan first claimed that the semi driver had cut her off, an unlikely claim since semis move considerably slower than Porsches, but later augmented her story to include the claim that when she tried to stop, her brakes did not respond.

The truck driver told police he was driving 40 mph when Lohan’s Porsche appeared out of nowhere.

When we initially reported on the story we knew that LiLo’s story was fishy, and now that the manufacturer has confirmed it, we’re interested to hear what Lohan has to say for herself.
