While we’d love to see the Ford Shelby GT350 and GT350R Mustangs continue on in perpetuity, the model will not be a part of Ford’s lineup forever. However, the blue oval decided to keep these top-of-the-line Mustangs rolling off the assembly line for at least one more year. You’ll be able to buy a 2018 model, and you’ll be able to get it in a few new color options.

Ford’s 2018 Shelby GT350 and GT350R Mustangs will come in three new exterior colors, including Orange Fury, Kona Blue (pictured above) and Lead Foot Gray (we’re not sure what “lead foot” means). The first two color options are available on the 2018 EcoBoost Mustang as well. The 2018 model year cars will also be available in the previous year’s colors (shown below).

The new colors will come to the GT350 and GT350R, but the Mustang’s new face and tail will not. The GT350 and GT350R will continue on without the 2018’s new styling. This means if you want the 525-horsepower, flat-plane-crank V8, you have to get it with the old version of the car's exterior styling.

Additionally, all of the rest of the car will go unchanged as well. This isn’t a bad thing. The Ford GT350 and GT350R Mustangs were a force to be reckoned with. They’re arguably the best Mustang ever created.

Although Ford most likely has some monster of a Mustang in the works (hopefully a new version of the Bullitt Mustang or GT500), we think you should just buy yourself a 2018 Shelby GT350 or GT350R Mustang if you want a ridiculously fast and track-happy car. You could wait, but we don’t know how long you’ll be waiting.
