We might just be getting old, but we love documentaries... especially when they're about automotive racing. The Jason Statham narrated 2008 documentary Truth in 24 about Audi at Le Mans was spectacular. 2010's award-winning Senna about Brazilian F1 driver, Ayrton Senna, was easily one of the best racing films ever made. Then 2015's Winning: The Racing Life of Paul Newman brought us up close and personal with a film and automotive racing icon. Now, Amazon Prime is releasing a new film series via its Prime streaming service, and it's simply called Le Mans: Racing is Everything. We can't wait.
The documentary series focuses on the world's most famous automotive endurance race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans that takes place every summer at the Circuit de la Sarthe in France.
The limited run series will go in depth about the race itself, the drivers, the cars and the manufacturers that participate. It also delves into the race's illustrious and fatal history, as well as the race culture that brings adults and children alike to witness one of the most exciting and grueling races in the world.
New Black Films, the production company behind the series, got face-to-face with the race's most prominent manufacturers and drivers from Porsche, Audi, Nissan, Toyota, Aston Martin and Rebellion teams. The series will bow on Amazon Prime on Friday, June 9, just before the actual 2017 Le Mans race takes place. Check out the new trailer below.
