2011 Frankfurt Auto Show

Model debuts to look forward to this year.

Frankfurt Germany --This September 15 through the 25, hundreds of thousands of automotive leaders, insiders and enthusiasts will gather in Frankfurt Germany for another exciting year at the Frankfurt Motor Show. With more than 2 Million exhibition space to get lost in, a near endless list of automotive manufacturers, industry Einsteins, and third-party technology developers will come together and celebrate the future.



Sure we all love the fanfare of the modern auto show spectacle, but lets not forget the Frankfurt Motor Show is much more than cool cars on spinning stages. Behind the scenes and across the grounds, the motor show serves as a networking and development tool for everybody who is involved in creating, manufacturing or driving passenger cars.

Since 1897, and now for 110 years, the Frankfurt Motor show has remained a Mecca for the automotive universe. The automotive expo highlights not only German engineering, but has become a launching pad for automotive industry across the Globe. In its 64th installment, the 2011 show has been titled the "Future Comes as Standard."

As in years past, the Motor show will debut an overflowing list of next year's models and not-so-distant future concept cars. At this year's show, manufacturers are debuting their innovations, and will showcase their own efforts towards engaging infotainment, as well as hybrid and electric vehicles. Hare are just a few of the hot rides show goers will have the privilege to see up close.

2012 Mercedes SLK 250 CDI Meredes will be excited as us all when they debut their first diesel-powered SLK Roadster. The 2012 SLK 250 CDI also will debut some of Mercedes techie achievements including the all exclusive Tiptronic Plus transmission. Most notably, the SLK CDI will perform like a roadster, cranking out 204 horses and 396 lb-ft of torque--but it will do it with a diesel efficient engine that averages 56.5 mpg. WOW!  

Frankfurt Motor Show - 2012 Model Debuts

2012 Audi S6 Avant Audi has announced that it will debut at least three 2012 Models, including the S6, the S6 Avant, the S7 Sportback, and the Audi S8. This year Audi has cranked up their drivetrain, and the S6 Avant is the perfect showcase. Equipped with the new 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, the new Audi power system will produce 420 horses and 406 lb-ft of torque.  
 
2012 Mazda CX-5. The new Mazda CX-5 is a concept car come to fruition, and has been based off of the Minagai Concept Vehicle that Mazda debuted to the world at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show. Although specific details for U.S. markets is still to be released, Europe will see the 2012 CX-5 equipped with Mazda's new SKYACTIV Green Technologies--a mix of more fuel efficient turbo-diesel and gasoline engines.

The Frankfurt Motor Show is not only known for new model debuts. This year's expo will also give show-goers a first look at many Concept Vehicles. From futuristic techie innovations that may be a few years away, to exciting technology that is currently being developed, the Frankfurt Motor Show will remind us all that tomorrow "The Future Comes Standard."

Here is a look at a few really cool Concept Cars that will hold their space at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Audi A2 ConceptAudi looks to sweep this year's Frankfurt Motor Show. They have already announced several debuts in the Concept Class, including the A2 Concept, the Urban Concept, and the Urban Concept Spyder. The A2 Concept is taking the Auto world by storm, and many are talking about the exterior lighting highlights, innovative LED-technology and even "motion-activated" doors that open upon hand getstures.

BMW i3 Concept According to the BWM Website, "The BMW i3 Concept is an uncompromisingly sustainable vehicle designed for urban areas. Driven purely by electric power and purpose-built to meet the demands of sustainable and emission-free mobility it embodies an intelligent form of urban transportation and commuting."  
 
Ford Evos The Ford Evos Concept is the premier North American brand and concept vehicle that will be debuted at this year's Fraknfurt Motor Show. Although the vehicle will never see the road as a consumer vehicle, many of the innovative technologies that make this Concept stand out will find themselves in Ford vehicles in the not-so-distant future.
