The BMW 5-series puts an emphasis on the driving experience. This mid-size luxury car remains a true sports sedan and delivers lively acceleration, precise handling and outstanding brakes.
The rear-wheel drive 530i and all-wheel drive 530xi feature a 3.0-liter inline-six generating 255 horsepower, with the choice of a six-speed manual transmission, optional six-speed automatic transmission with Steptronic shifting or on the 530i only, a six-speed SMG transmission similar to the one offered in the M3. The 530xi is available in sedan or wagon bodystyles. Standard features include leatherette upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control with active micro-filtration, an AM/FM/CD stereo with 10 speakers, bi-xenon adaptive headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, six airbags and a rechargeable flashlight in the glovebox.
Just got my 2007 530i sport/nav/premium.
I have owned Acura, Lexus, Infinity, and Cadillac brand luxury vehicles and can honestly say that none provided an actual driving experience. My 2006 Infinity M35x was a wonderful car but the overall package fell short of the offerings of the 530. The 20 way sport seats are incredible and the sport mode for the transmission totally transforms the car from a tourer to a sports machine. The idrive controller takes about 15 minutes to master - and once learned is a joy to use. I wish I would have discovered BMWs sooner!
