Cadillac is a luxury brand owned by General Motors. It was formed in 1902, and General Motors purchased it in 1909. It quickly gained a reputation for prestige and luxury and its name became synonymous with quality, as in "the Cadillac of watches." In the 2000s Cadillac adopted a new design direction dubbed "Art and Science" which, according to the company "incorporates sharp, sheer forms and crisp edges - a form vocabulary that expresses bold, high-technology design and invokes the technology used to design it."
