I really like my Dodge and it has held up for 6 years very well, but the dash is an issue with it. It has broken into several pieces over that time. There should be a recall on the cracked and broken dashes. Mine is not the only one. This can couse the wires to get to hot in the summer. DODGE YOU NEED TO FIX THIS!!!!

Now the whole dash is falling apart Iv'e Never SEEN A DASH LOOK THIS BAD .I think it could even be DANGEROUS!!! I've recently found out we are not the only one with this problem.DODGE FIX THE PROBLEM!!!!

The truck engine wise was built very well. I have had 3 transmissions in it, though. The dash is cracked and i put in two grand in body work with repainting it, and putting new doors, and a bed on. They were rusted from the front where the floor boards are to the quarter panels were shot from the rust. The way they built these trucks was basically only made for a few years. Though it has a strong engine, Dodge has disappointed me when it came to the transmission and the body.

I love my 01 Ram. I got a Laramie SLT 5.9 V8 and it has been a beast for 9 years. My dad has owned it since 2003 when he bought it used and beat the hell out of it on trails leading to out hunting grounds. He passed it down to me when he bought a used 05 Chevy 2500 Duramax. It then got stuck in the sand up to the axles and the Dodge pulled it out in 2 attempts. The first shattered a new chain.
