ast week, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes shocked almost no one when they announced they were divorcing. The news led to plenty of speculation and rumors, naturally, and we can't pick which we like the best/think is true, but here's a few of the best ones.

One rumor is that Holmes would earn $70 for the first year of marriage, and another $10 million if she made it to five years.

Katie Was Paid to Marry Tom.
This one has been around for ages, but it still makes sense. There have been longstanding rumors that Cruise is actually gay and that his wives have been just a coverup. Furthermore, it seems odd that all of his wives have divorced him when they were 33 years old. But as far as getting paid, the rumor is that when they were married, she signed a contract that stated she'd earn $70 million for the first year of marriage, and then an additional $10 million if she made it to five years. We can see how divorce can devastate a family, but $80 million will help her deal, we're sure.

Suri Isn't Tom's Kid.
This one is controversial and it's a little hard to buy (mostly because that kid looks like a carbon copy of her parents), but the rumor is that Suri's real dad is L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology. According to an unauthorized biography published in 2008, celebrity biographer Andrew Morton wrote that Cruise and Holmes used frozen sperm from Hubbard to conceive their child. Obviously and expectedly, Cruise and his people vehemently denied this one.

Scientology is "Out to Get" Katie.
Holmes is requesting sole custody of her daughter with Cruise, Suri, which leads us to believe it's because she's finally come to regarding Scientology—most of us understandably see it as somewhat of a cult, and if she's requesting sole custody, we can only imagine it's because she doesn't want Suri exposed to it. But, now rumor has it that Holmes thinks Scientologists are "tailing her" because they view her as a threat since she's seemingly flying the coop.
