hese days, there's a heavy focus on eco-footprints and green technology, with companies dreaming up new ways to conserve resources all the time. This week's Kickstarter, SunVolt, is part of that, offering up 10- and 15-watt solar panels that are portable and small, to be used for charging multiple devices—think laptops, smartphones, tablets, mp3 players, and more.
SunVolt is a portable charging platform that transmits the sun's rays onto a charging station that's perfect for powering up your gadgets. It's highly portable and self-contained in a durable shoulder bag, which makes it ideal for things like camping trips or trips to the beach or pool.
The SunVolt is a highly portable, 10- or 15-watt panel that charges your gadgets using the sun's rays.
Setup is quick and easy—in just a few seconds, you'll have the station ready to go so you can start charging. It is availble in 10- and 15-watt models, and comes with a durable, densely-stitched nylon carrying bag that is water resistant.
Multiple charging outputs also come with the panel, including several USB charging ports, MicroUSB ports, and miniUSB plugs. There are also additional plugs available from SunVolt for $5.95 each. What's better, the SunVolt also comes with a lifetime warranty.
In the future, the company hopes to expand its usability to things like riding lawnmowers, motorcycles, and even cars. They also want to extend the use-time to nighttime by adding the ability to charge the panel with the sun but store the energy until it's needed later.
Backing the project for $85 will get you the 10-watt charging kit, which includes the panel, the carrying case, one power regulation circuit, two charging ports, tips, and an instruction card. It's not a bad deal.
