T
he moment everyone has been waiting for is almost upon us—that's right, Apple has announced the date and time for its next presentation, the one expected to unveil the iPhone 5.
The teaser invitation that Apple sent out shows the number 12, but the shadow is a number five—an obvious implication that they are calling the next iteration of the iPhone the iPhone 5, and, more importantly, that they are announcing it that day.
Rumors of the new iPhone have included speculation about design, screen size, and reworked charging docks.
Rumors surrounding the upcoming design include the new phone having a two-tone unibody design as well as a smaller, redesigned charging dock connector (thus making plenty of iPhone accessories useless and obsolete, which will likely anger many), and a larger screen.
iPods have typically been part of the September Apple events, and though they aren't as ubiquitous and interesting as they once were, it's still on the horizon. Also rumored is Apple's creation of a smaller iPad, with a 7.85-inch screen.
Of course, just because they're announcing it doesn't mean it will be available that day. As with every previous announcement from Apple, the product will be in stock in stores several weeks after the presentation.
What are you hoping to see in the new iPhone?
