T

his week's most-downloaded apps have changed significantly this week, and we've also got some good ones that we found on our own that you might like or find useful. Without further ado, here's what made the ranks, from violent video games to IQ tests, which we can't help but think would deliver inaccurate results.

paid Paid Apps.

Paid Apps
Number one in the most downloaded paid apps is WhatsAppMessenger, the app that lets you talk to friends even if they're overseas without tacking on outrageous data charges. Holding strong in second place is Where's My Perry?, followed by What's My IQ Pro, an app that we can only guess delivers hyper-accurate results for your IQ (doubtful). Fourth place goes to Vintique, a photo editing app that makes your pictures look old. You know, because you bought an expensive phone to take washed-out pics. Fifth place goes to Bastian, an RPG game that was redone to be iPad compatible, too.

free
Free Apps.

Free Apps
In first place in the free apps category is What's My IQ?, and again, since we noticed a grammatical error in the app's description photos, we're going to bet safely that this thing isn't all that accurate. In second place is Trigger Fist, a classic shoot-em-up game. In third is, ironically, Stupidness 2, another IQ testing app (are people really that curious?), followed yet again by SongPop Free. Finally, we have Blood & Glory: Legend, an action packed game.

panton
MyPantone

Our Favorites
MyPantone. This $9.99 app seems expensive, but if your work involves designing or choosing specific colors, you'll find this one extremely helpful. Take a photo using your phone's camera or grab one from the internet, and MyPantone will search out what exact color the hue you're looking for is in terms of Pantone labeling. It's not for everyone (say, if you just want to find a paint color, hardware stores can do that for you for free), but if you do a lot of work with colors, you'll like MyPantone.

popwords
PopWords.

PopWords
We love a free game that can also hold our attention. Enter PopWords, a free app that's reminiscent of playing Boggle. Fight the timer and try to find as many words as you can before the clock runs out. It sounds simple, but you'll be addicted before you know it.
