T

his week's top-downloaded apps are surprisingly similar to last week's, and instead of simply reiterating charts you read last Friday, we've decided to instead feature four unique apps that you might love.

dead The Walking Dead.

First up is a new game based off of the wildly popular TV show, The Walking Dead. This app is $4.99, pretty steep for an app store that offers a lot of free and $0.99 apps, but it's got 262 good reviews, giving it a rating of about four stars. It's available for devices  iPhone 4 and up and iPad 2 and up (it's not compatible with older models). It's almost a choose-your-own-adventure game, and it features five episodes in which you act as Lee Everett, a man who is surrounded by a world of undead. His goal is to protect an orphaned girl named Clementine.

Vintique.

Next, we have Vintique, a free photo editing app that lets you enhance your photos to look like they were taken decades ago. Given the popularity of some Instagram filters that do the same, this app is sure to be a hit. It offers 32 different filters, as well as 26 vignette and texture options and 49 different frames.

Plague Inc.

If the official Walking Dead game is too pricey for you, check out Plague Inc. It's a $0.99 strategy game wherein you have to spread the zombie plague. It's number six on this week's iTunes charts, but we imagine it'll be higher in a week or two, especially with Halloween on its way.

The Game of Life

Finally, we like The Game of Life.  It's 99 cents, and it's just like the game that we all grew up with.
