P

eople for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), the world's most notorious animal rights organization, has pushed the envelope just a little further with its recent launching of a hardcore porn site, proving once again that objectifying women is a-okay, but eating meat is the absolute worst thing one person can do. The site lures in viewers with the promise of big name stars like Jenna Jameson, but once you're on the site, they add in animal rights messages, too, like the importance of spaying and neutering your pets.

PETA endorses, yet again, the objectification of women, all in the name of not eating meat.

The site is a registered XXX domain (Peta.xxx, unsurprisingly), and visitors to the site have a choice of links to click on, including one called "Sex Tips" which makes the case that vegetarians are better lovers. Other porn stars, like Sasha Grey, tell you to "Discover the pleasure of pleather."

But the real show-stealer here is the "Hardcore Videos" link, which is, well, not what you'd think. Instead of too-hot-for-TV scenes (in the traditional sense), you'll find videos of animal cruelty "so offensive that no TV stations have dared to run them." Videos include documentation of slaughter houses, abused circus animals, "giggling lab rats," and lizards being decapitated in Indonesia.

The thing we have to ask though: Did PETA ever consider that some people out there are sure to find both the hardcore-porn and the hardcore-cruelty a turn-on? There's some off-the-beaten-path (oh man, pun not intended) fetishes out there, and maybe PETA needs to stop focusing on luring people in with naked ladies and start focusing on what their message should be.
