The trend of specially outfitted trucks straight from the factory has been extremely popular lately, and Ram has another version of its venerable RAM 1500 pickup – the new special edition Night package. The 2017 Ram 1500 Night Package is based on the Sport model of the truck and adds a number of blacked-out visual elements, to justify the name.
According to the press release, the Night package adds the following:
- Blacked-out grille and grille inserts
- Black “RAM” lettering on the tailgate
- Black Ram’s head badge on the grille
- Black Ram 1500, 4x4 and 5.7L HEMI badging
- 20 x 9-inch glass black aluminum wheels
- P275/60R20 black sidewall all-season tires.
The Night package will be available on regular, quad and crew cab 1500 Sport trucks in either two or four-wheel drive configuration. The Night package is also available with the long and short bed lengths and with either the 3.6-liter V6 (305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque) or the 5.7-liter V8 (395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque).
The package can be added to trucks in a variety of colors as well, including bright silver metallic, bright white, brilliant black, flame red and granite crystal metallic. This allows customers to customize their truck a little and get themselves something that is more unique.
The 2017 Ram 1500 Night package truck's production should begin sometime in the fourth quarter of 2016. Pricing for this special package should come out closer to the production date.
