Without any smoke and mirrors, Jaguar just revealed the surprisingly beautiful 2018 XF Sportbrake. It looks pretty much like an XF, but longer and a lower, sleek roof. It’s gorgeous and practical with tons of cargo space behind the rear seats. Overall, it’s just a great wagon, seemingly much better than the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo that was revealed just a few days ago.
Inside the XF Sportbrake, you’ll find a very similar interior to the XF sedan, except the wagon has a huge, panoramic roof. It doesn’t open, but no one can really complain about the beautifully unique overhead view it provides. However, if views aren’t your thing, a wave of the hand past a sensor will close it up with
The XF Sportbrake is very performance-ready, as it’s only available in all-wheel-drive with a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that gives 380 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. The wagon is said to be able to reach 60 mph in only 5.3 seconds and comes with self-leveling rear suspension.
The base S model of the XF Sportbrake starts at $71,445. The gesture controlled sun blind, activity band, and extra screens are just options. It’s a nearly a $3,600 price increase from the sedan, but it’s not so bad when considering alternative choices in the segment. How you want to customize is up to you, but it looks to be a great buy, no matter how you configure it.
