When building convertibles, supercar makers will often make minor sacrifices in order to bring their creation to fruition. Lamborghini has done just that with its Aventador S Roadster. Making the convertible just about as efficient as the coupe, but with about 100 lbs of extra weight, has resulted in a drop-top supercar that any one-percenter would be proud to own (and show off).
The Aventador S Roadster can be outfitted with a solid selection of interior colorways, each comprised of leather and Alcantara in both single and bi-color combinations. Aside from these interior options, the roof panels can either be covered in standard black Alcantara or carbon fiber with the Carbon Skin package. A perfect balance of power and elegance.
Here are the important details on the car:
- The Aventador S Roadster’s body style is a 2-door, removable roof convertible. Deep, bold lines that give the Roadster the most extreme aerodynamics, note the strong yet elegant signature of the Aventador range.
- Accelerates from 0-62 mph in 3.0 seconds, with a top speed of 217 miles per hour.
- Fitted with the naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine with 729 horsepower and 509 lb-ft of torque.
- It borrows from the coupe’s four-wheel drive, active suspension, four-wheel steering and EGO driving mode.
The Aventador S Roadster will start with an MSRP of $460,247, which is about $40,000 more than the coupe. It might seem like a huge price leap, but the experience of the convertible can’t be matched by even the most well-optioned coupe.
