When we first laid eyes on the David Brown Speedback GT, we were smitten. Though it might seem a bit Aston Martin-
The Silverstone Edition isn't just beautiful but also properly quick. It's powered by a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 that churns out a healthy 601 horsepower and 565 lb-ft of twist, which will launch the car from 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds hit a top speed of 155 mph. All this power is mated to a six-speed ZF automatic transmission to the rear wheels. The Silverstone Edition also benefits from an upgraded suspension system, dynamic stability control, performance brakes, and an active rear differential. The result is a car that doesn't just look gorgeous, it can run with the performance pack, too.
David Brown Automotive gave the Silverstone Edition both racing and aeronautical cues with jet-fighter like metal housed quad pipes, a racing-like rear diffuser, and a nice mesh grille with inset LED headlights. The wheels are also jet-inspired "afterburner" wheels. Even the taillights get a special silver treatment. The overall look is more aggressive than the Speedback GT on which it's based.
The interior is simply stunning and uses special leather and fabric, metal inlay, premium wood, and brushed chrome, and the overall look fits this retro-style exotic. The seats have specially embroidered Silverstone track logos with the Union Jack pattern within. The Silverstone badging inside and out separate it from the base car. There's even some proper British broguing on the seats, a very nice touch. Topping things off are modern tech touches like an infotainment system, navigation, Bluetooth, and a Bowers & Wilkins premium sound system.
This is truly a special edition with only 10 cars planned for production at a price of about $861,000.
