- Kia has worked hard on changing their image from an economy automaker to offering premium-level cars, crossovers, and SUVs as exemplified by the Stinger, K900, and now the Telluride.
- Their electric offerings have earned great reviews, and now they're embarking on a more upscale EV direction.
- This sole teaser photo is meant to show the public their new direction for electrification. The car will debut in Geneva next month.
Just prior to the big Geneva Motor Show, Kia has dished up a single photo to capture their EV future, and it's a looker. And it's not as though the South Korean carmaker doesn't already have some great EV offerings in the form of the new Niro and redesigned Soul EV. We just won't get the upcoming C'EED plug-in hybrid wagon that looks every bit as good as the Jaguar XF Sportbrake and the Volvo V90 Cross Country.
There's scant information about the model in the teaser photo, but we can tell it's a stunner from the front. The heavily creased hood, the modified tiger-nose grille with a big band of LED light strips framing the thin headlights, the side mirror cameras, and the scalloping on the lower fascia all point to a more aggressive look than any of the brand's current offerings. We especially love the reworked version of the Kia badge in the form illuminated letters with a fresh font.

What we know about the new EV concept ist hat it will be "a visual embodiment of the company's desire to move forward in the exciting world of electrification." We guess that's the fancy way to say the new eV concept is supposed to show us what Kia's future electric cars will look like. So far, we like what we see.
In order to be competitive, all aspects of EVs have to be addressed: styling, range, charging speed and options, performance, etc. Now that Kia is on their way to perception change on the part of the car-buying public, they're going to embark on a new chapter with electrification. But just about everyone else is doing the same thing. We'll see if Kia can pull it off.
