There's no question that one of the biggest automotive success stories last year was the Kia Telluride SUV that won the hearts and bank accounts of so many buyers, even ones shopping for Land Rovers and BMWs. The near-premium SUV is handsome, well-appointed, easy to drive, and comes backed with one of the industry's best warranties. Now, the brand has given it the blacked-out treatment in the form of the Nightfall Edition.
When so many brands are doing blackened vehicles like the Lexus GS Black Line Edition and the Ram 1500 Black Edition, it only makes sense for others to follow. Typically, these special editions don't come so early for a new vehicle, but Kia went ahead anyway.
While it doesn't receive any power or suspension upgrades, the Nightfall Edition does get special cosmetic treatments like a new, black radiator grille design, murdered-out 20-inch gloss black wheels with black lug nuts and center caps. Even the model lettering in front and back gets the Nightfall look.
There are also black door handles, roof rails, window framing, door molding, skid plates, and even air intake accents up front. Even the headlight and foglight trim is black, making the Nightfall Edition look positively menacing from every angle. Too bad the twin tailpipes were left out of the equation.
The Nightfall Edition will be available on the Telluride EX AWD trim that's configured with the premium package, as well as on the top trims SX AWD and SX Prestige package. You don't even have to choose black paint for your Telluride since you can get other paint selections including a new and exclusive Wolf Gray.
The Telluride is one of the best SUVs in the segment and goes to prove that the Korean company knows how to build premium, not just affordable vehicles. It goes up against the Hyundai Palisade, which we also love, even though that model doesn't have a blacked-out version (yet).
No pricing has been announced yet for the 2021 Telluride Nightfall Edition, but it should come before the SUV goes on sale later this year. We're guessing it's going to sell even better than the regular version, if that's even possible.
The Telluride is one of our favorite vehicles for 2020. Read our full review of this great, new SUV below:
