The Lincoln Aviator is easily the brand's best vehicle. We've driven it. Powerful, stunning, spacious, and technologically impressive, the Aviator is also Lincoln's best expression of its design language. Just when we thought it couldn't get better, Lincoln partners up with Detroit watch and style brand, Shinola, to create a special version for the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. While it might look like a dressed-up Aviator, it's so much more underneath.
The exterior styling pretty much looks the same as the stock Aviator, but with some color treatments that change the game to make it even more upscale. There are numerous copper accents all over the stunning pearl white exterior: turbine wheels, grille mesh, fender vent, rocker panel accents, and window trim get a nice matte copper hue that's very much in line with the Shinola brand.
The interior has been specially done to reflect the beauty and quality of Shinola products, and a couple of specific retail items were tapped to dress up the special Aviator's interior. Shinola’s iconic whiskey-colored leather that shows up in the brand's Canfield Sport watch and Runwell bike seat is present in a much larger swath on the Aviator's seats and interior trim.
The leather also gets slathered all over the steering wheel, dash, and door trim, and there's also cream white seat inserts on the seats, dash, and door panels that lend a nice contrast. The metal trim you see inside mimic Shinola watch bracelets and provide an even greater level of American opulence. The vehicle also comes with a matching Shinola duffel bag made from, what else, whiskey leather.
While the Aviator Shinola Concept isn't more than a concept created for Pebble Beach showcasing, it's entirely possible that this co-branding could extend to real production, which we would love to see. If you want to view this special concept vehicle in the flesh, just head to the Concourse d'Elegance at Pebble Beach on August 15th.
