2019 was a big year for FCA with the Ram 1500 and HD trucks winning countless awards, and the buzz around the release of the Gladiator, Jeep's first pickup truck in nearly 3 decades. Now the automaker has even more reason to boast after nabbing several top spots at the Automotive Loyalty Awards by IHS Markit. The awards recognize manufacturers and vehicles that lead their segments in customer retention.

How Customer Loyalty is Measured

The customer retention awards are based on an analysis of nearly 17.5 million new vehicle registrations during 2019. Loyalty is determined by IHS Markit when a household that owns a new vehicle returns to market and purchases or leases another new vehicle of the same make, model or manufacturer. FCA had the most vehicles win with three awards including the Ram 1500 and Ram HD, the Chrysler Pacifica, and the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
